This page explains how we research, write, check and update the guides on Gramercy Gold. If something we’ve published doesn’t meet these standards, please tell us.
Independence
No company pays to be covered, and no dealer, custodian or other business reviews our guides before they’re published. We don’t currently earn money from any company we write about. If we add affiliate links or advertising in future, those relationships won’t decide what we write, how we describe a product’s costs and risks, or which products we mention, and any paid link will be labeled on the page. Sources
We rely on primary sources wherever we can:
- Laws and tax rules: the U.S. Code, IRS publications and guidance, and court decisions.
- Product facts: the mints and refiners that make coins and bars.
- Regulators: the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, the Securities and Exchange Commission, FINRA, the FTC and state regulators.
- Markets: exchanges and benchmark administrators such as CME Group and the London Bullion Market Association.
- Data and research: the World Gold Council, the Silver Institute, the World Platinum Investment Council, the U.S. Geological Survey and other official statistics.
When we use news reports or secondary sources, we prefer established publications and say where a figure came from. Every guide ends with a list of the sources it relies on, linked so you can check them.
Accuracy and updates
Rules, limits and prices change. Guides show the date they were last updated, and when a fact depends on timing, such as a contribution limit, a price or a fee schedule, we say when it applied. We review guides when the rules they cover change, and we correct errors as soon as we confirm them.
How we use AI tools
We use AI tools to help research and draft guides. Every guide is reviewed by our editorial team before it’s published, and its facts are checked against the sources listed at the end. We don’t publish invented quotes, testimonials, reviews or author profiles, and we don’t use AI-generated images of real people.
Bylines
Our guides carry the byline “Gramercy Gold Editorial Team” because they’re researched, written and reviewed as a team effort.
Advice
Our guides are general information. They aren’t personal financial, tax or legal advice, and they don’t take your circumstances into account. For decisions about your own money, talk to a qualified professional, such as a fee-only financial planner, a CPA or an attorney.
Corrections
If you think we’ve got something wrong, contact us and tell us which page and what you believe is incorrect. We’ll check it against the sources, fix confirmed errors promptly, and update the date on the guide. Significant corrections are noted on the page.
